  • Performance Tuning

    The theory underlying minimal connection time revolves around three requirements. These requirements are summarized below, and detailed procedures follow: Known communications protocol. You do not want the client or server to spend additional time trying to connect via protocols that are not supported in your environment. By removing client/server support for unavailable protocols, you prevent the networking components from trying to use them. Known location of database engine. You do not want the client to attempt to connect to an engine that does not exist.

  • Remote Desktop

    Remote Desktop, included with Windows XP Professional and Windows 7, enables you to connect to your computer across the Internet from virtually any computer, Pocket PC, or Smartphone. Once connected, Remote Desktop gives you mouse and keyboard control over your computer while showing you everything that's happening on the screen. With Remote Desktop, you can leave your computer at the office without losing access to your files, applications, and e-mail. Your sales force will be able to access the latest pricing sheet from on the road by using Remote Desktop in Windows XP Professional and Windows 7.

  • HELP!

    The S2000 Help Menu can be searched for various criteria that you may be stuggling with. The Help Menu has a very large database of common issues and tasks associated with everything from Bar Coding to Zip Areas. You simply click on Help then Help Topics and select your menu options at the bottom left. There, you will find a Table of Contents, an Index and Search fields where you can find answers quickly.

  • Procedures

    Work orders may be printed in one of several different ways If desired, work orders may be printed at the end of the entry wizard (Work Order Options page) by checking the "I want to print this work order now" checkbox control. If this box is checked, the work order will be created and the print preview window will appear automatically. The “PRINTED” indicator is set if the Printer button is depressed. Individual work orders or groups of work orders may be printed from the “Tasks > Service” menu by selecting the “Print Work Orders” option. Selecting this option will produce a dialog similar to the graphic above:

  • Data Export

    Data Extraction is possible through the Schema View in S2000. Data fields can be selected and then exported as tab delimited text files where they can late be imported into such applicaitons as Microsoft Access, Open Office Base and Microsoft Exel or, the data can be merged with other applications for accounting or marketing purporses
